  1. gryphon

    winged monster with the head of an eagle and the body of a lion

    They very soon came upon a Gryphon, lying fast asleep in the sun.

  2. dormouse

    small furry-tailed squirrel-like Old World rodent that becomes torpid in cold weather

    There was a table set out under a tree in front of the house, and the March Hare and the Hatter were having tea at it: a Dormouse was sitting between them, fast asleep, and the other two were using it as a cushion, resting their elbows on it, and talking over its head.

  3. uglify

    make ugly

  4. hatter

    someone who makes and sells hats

    'In THAT direction,' the Cat said, waving its right paw round, 'lives a Hatter: and in THAT direction,' waving the other paw, 'lives a March Hare.

  5. Caterpillar

  6. kid glove

    She stretched herself up on tiptoe, and peeped over the edge of the mushroom, and her eyes immediately met those of a large caterpillar, that was sitting on the top with its arms folded, quietly smoking a long hookah, and taking not the smallest notice of her or of anything else.

  14. daisy-chain

    connect devices on a part of a chip or circuit board in a computer

    So she was considering in her own mind (as well as she could, for the hot day made her feel very sleepy and stupid), whether the pleasure of making a daisy-chain would be worth the trouble of getting up and picking the daisies, when suddenly a White Rabbit with pink eyes ran close by her.

  15. comfit

    candy containing a fruit or nut

    Alice had no idea what to do, and in despair she put her hand in her pocket, and pulled out a box of comfits, (luckily the salt water had not got into it), and handed them round as prizes.
