Themes

One of the major themes that the writer focuses on more is the feelings of the child when he/she switches from childhood to adolescence. Alice embodies these feelings every time she becomes bigger or shrinks; especially in chapter 5 when she cannot control her physical size. Mixture feelings between dissatisfaction, frustration, and discomfort Alice feels the same as child`s feeling during the puberty stage.

Another central theme is the consequences of curiosity. As it is obvious that Alice’s curiosity is the reason behind making Alice falls into the Rabbit hole and face a lot of things that she couldn`t understand. Although this trait is inherited in every child, they should be taught how to control their curiosity in order to avoid exposure to dangerous consequences.

Life consists of a lot of weird and strange events that the brain cannot find any interpretations for. Similarly, Alice goes over many situations that she cannot understand; for example, she doesn`t have the ability to understand what is going inside the Duchess` house, nor can she find reasons that make the Queen of Hearts applies beheadings for everyone frustrates her. In the end, Alice realizes that all of what has gone doesn`t depend on logic anymore but it follows the way of arbitrariness. Therefore, one of the major themes here is that life doesn`t always depend on logic; people don`t need to find interpretations for every event that happens in front of their eyes because sometimes in fact these events lack interpretations and happen arbitrarily.
